About this policy
This policy explains how AI Cal Tracker handles information when you use meal logging, food scans, nutrition goals, and AI Coach. AI Cal Tracker is provided by AI Cal Tracker. For privacy questions or requests, contact articlespinnerai@gmail.com.
Information you provide
We handle the information you enter, including your name, email address, account identifier, profile picture if supplied by your sign-in provider, age, gender, height, weight, activity level, health goal, calorie and macro targets, goal history, food entries, meal dates, and progress. Account credentials are handled by our authentication service. An anonymous account identifier may be created when you start without registering. Nutrition and weight information can be sensitive health-related data.
Food photos and analysis
When you capture or select a photo for a scan, the app prepares a smaller copy and sends it to our food-analysis service and its AI processing provider to estimate foods, portions, calories, and macros. Photos are processed for your scan; saved meal logs contain food and nutrition details rather than the original image. Temporary working copies are used during image preparation and removed by the app's cleanup process. Images that already exist in your device library remain under your control.
AI Coach messages
When you send a message to AI Coach, your message and a limited recent conversation history are sent to our service and its AI processing provider to generate a reply. The app holds recent conversation context in memory while it is running; it does not save a permanent chat transcript in your meal history. Profile details and food logs are not automatically included in coach requests in this version. Anything you type into a message, including personal or health information, is part of that request. Avoid sending passwords, payment details, medical records, or information about other people.
How we use information
We use information to provide sign-in, synchronize your profile and logs, calculate and display progress, estimate nutrition, answer coach messages, remember preferences, process support requests, and protect the service against abuse. Update checks use the app's version information to offer compatible releases. Technical service records can include IP addresses, request times, requested routes, response status, request identifiers, and errors. We keep short-lived daily feature counts and abuse-prevention counters linked to a pseudonymous account identifier to enforce plan allowances. These counters do not store food photos or chat text. We do not use nutrition or coach content to sell advertising profiles.
Purchases and subscriptions
When you purchase or restore Premium, the app store and our subscription service process your app account identifier, purchase receipts or tokens, subscription plan, transaction dates, renewal and expiry status, and technical app and device information to validate purchases, restore access, prevent fraud, and provide support. Payment details are handled by the app store; we do not receive your full card number. Purchase records may be retained to meet accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations.
Optional rewarded ads
Free users can choose to watch an ad to earn an extra food scan. Premium users are not shown ads. Our advertising service, Google AdMob, may collect IP addresses (including approximate location), advertising or app identifiers, device and app information, ad interactions, and diagnostic data to deliver ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud. We request non-personalized ads; these can still use identifiers for functions such as frequency limits and fraud prevention. We do not send food photos, meal logs, weight, goals, or AI Coach messages to advertising services. Age settings are used to apply age-appropriate ad treatment without sending your exact age. A pseudonymous account identifier and a one-time reward code are sent with rewarded ads to verify completion. Reward verification records are retained for about 7 days and contain no food photos or chat text. Where required, you can make or change advertising privacy choices through the consent message and Settings > Privacy choices. Declining optional ads leaves manual logging and your included daily allowance available.
Storage and service providers
When cloud services are available, account details, profile information, goals, and meal logs are stored through our authentication and database providers. The app also keeps device-side preferences and cached data; a local profile may be used when cloud sign-in is unavailable. Service providers process information needed for authentication, hosting, storage, food analysis, and AI Coach. Information may be processed in countries other than where you live. These providers have their own security, operational, and legal retention obligations.
Sharing and security
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose data to service providers as needed to operate the app, in response to lawful requirements, or to protect users and the service from fraud or abuse. Requests to our online services use encrypted connections, and access to cloud user records is restricted by account. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device and sign-in credentials.
Permissions and your choices
Camera access is used when you take a food photo. The system photo picker gives access to the image you select; the app does not request full-library, microphone, contacts, or precise-location access. You can decline or revoke camera access in Android Settings and continue using manual meal logging. You can edit profile details and goals in the app, delete individual meal entries, or use Settings > Delete data to clear the profile, goals, meal logs, and streaks associated with your current app identity.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information and saved tracking data to provide your account and history until you delete them or request deletion. Settings > Delete data clears the app data associated with your current identity, but does not delete the sign-in account itself. To request deletion of your sign-in account and its associated data, email articlespinnerai@gmail.com with the subject AI Cal Tracker account deletion. Use your registered email address where possible; we may ask for information needed to verify ownership. You may also request access, correction, or deletion through this contact. Device-only records must be cleared on the relevant device. Limited technical records may remain where needed for security, legal obligations, or resolving disputes; service-provider backups and records may follow their own retention schedules.
Children and health information
The app is a general wellness tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact articlespinnerai@gmail.com so we can investigate and arrange deletion where appropriate. Teenagers should use nutrition and weight-management guidance with a parent or guardian and a qualified health professional. AI Coach is not a confidential medical consultation or an emergency service.
Policy changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app or its data handling changes. The date at the top identifies the current policy. Material changes will be communicated where required. Contact AI Cal Tracker at articlespinnerai@gmail.com for privacy questions or to exercise applicable data rights.
